2	Make yourself a stranger Turn your home to a manger With the lovers of this danger Cohabitate in one place, in one place	هم خویش را بیگانه کن هم خانه را ویرانه کن وآنگه بیا با عاشقان هم‌خانه شو هم‌خانه شو
3	Open your heart like a tray Vengeance wash away and pray The wine of love, when down you lay Your cup grace, your cup grace	رو سینه را چون سینه‌ها هفت آب شوی از کینه‌ها آنگه شراب عشق را پیمانه شو پیمانه شو
4	You must become wholly a soul To be worthy of the Divine Whole If with the drunk you play your role Drinking chase, drinking chase	باید که جمله جان شوی تا لایق جانان شوی گر تو سوی مستان شوی مستانه شو مستانه شو
5	The bead from the earring With cheek will speak and sing If cheek and ear you seek and cling Mother-of-pearl make your space	آن گوشوارِ شاهدان هم‌صحبتِ عارض شده گر گوش و عارض بایدت دُردانه شو دُردانه شو.
6	When your soul flies easy From this, our sweet fantasy Like lovers in mortal ecstasy Your story trace, your story trace	چون جانِ تو شُد در هوا ز افسانه‌یِ شیرین ما فانی شو و چون عاشقان افسانه شو افسانه شو
7	Go from this night of the grave And the Divine Night brave And like Divine, spirit crave Make that your base, make that your base	تو لیلة القبری برو تا لیلة القدری شوی چون قدر مَر ارواح را کاشانه ش؛ کاشانه شو
8	Your mind will first imagine Then will draw you therein Trade mind and fate in your within Onward race, onward race	اندیشه‌ات جایی رَوَد آنگه تو را آن جا برد ز اندیشه بگذر چون قضا پیشانه شو پیشانه شو
9	A lock with an invisible bar Enchains our hearts, keeps us afar Become the key, the key you are Like saw teeth brace, brace!	قفلی بُوَد میل هوا بنهاده بر دل‌های ما مفتاح شو مفتاح شو دندانه شو دندانه شو
10	Lovers their wine draw From cup of skull with bone straw In such a feast obey the law Yourself efface, yourself efface.	چون عاشقان می رادهمی از کاسهً سر میخورند در بزم او گر می‌روی مردانه شو مردانه شو
11	To call this “accident” or “chance” Puts your essence out of balance In your earthly reign & kingly dance Choose staff or mace, staff or mace!	بفکن عَرَض گر جوهری ره رو که در دریای تو خرمهره نارد قیمتی دردانه شو دردانه شو
12	Christ graced the wooden cross Cross’s gain was our loss Such compassion cannot emboss On wooden vase, on wooden vase.	بِنْواخت نورِ مصطفی آن اُستُنِ حنّانه را کمتر ز چوبی نیستی حنّانه شو حنّانه شو
13	Solomon spoke of right & wrong In the birds’ language & tongue Soul’s bird to body’s trap don’t belong Bird is your ace, bird is your ace.	گوید سلیمان مر تو را بشنو لسان الطّیر را دامیّ ز تو مرغی رَمَد رو دانه شو، رو دانه شو
14	If graced with Beloved’s affection Like a mirror become reflection If naked made such selection Wrap in lace, wrap in lace.	گر چهره بنماید صنم پُر شو از او چون آینه ور زلف بگشاید ز هم رو شانه شو رو شانه شو
15	How long crisscross like the rook? Or like a pawn easily forsook? Like a queen, obliquely look? Straighten pace, straighten pace.	تا کی دوشاخه چون رُخی تا کی چو بَیذَق کم تکی تا کی چو فرزین کژ روی فرزانه شو فرزانه شو
16	To love you gave with much pleasure Every earthly weal and treasure Forget treasure, yourself measure For love’s case, for love’s case.	شکرانه دادی عشق را زان گنجها و مال‌ها هِل مال را خود را بده شُکرانه شو شُکرانه شو
17	For sometime were mineral Some other time were animal Then human-like, erect & tall Soul don’t debase, soul don’t debase.	یک مدّتی از کان بُدی یک مدّتی حیوان بُدی یک مدّتی چون جان بُدی جانانه شو جانانه شو
18	O tongue may you become still Not with speech egos fulfill Spirit leaves tongue null and nil No more disgrace, and nor deface.	ای ناطقه بر بام رو تا کی رویبر بام و در گفت زبان را ترک کن بی‌خانه شو بی‌خانه شو
19	O Shams-e Tabrizi come near In my soul your place is dear O King, my soul to joy steer With regal grace, with regal grace!	ای شمس تبریزی بیا در جان جان داری تو جا جان را نوا بخشا شها شاهانه شو شاهانه شو
